Xigduo xr 5/1000 contains two combinations: metformin and Dapagliflozin which help to control high blood glucose (sugar) levels. 
Dapagliflozin works by removing excess sugar (glucose) from your body through urine.
Metformin works by lowering sugar production in the liver, delaying glucose absorption from the intestines, and increasing the body's sensitivity to insulin. Together, they provide better control of blood sugar.
this medicine controls the level of blood sugar and reduces the risk of serious complications of diabetes such as kidney damage, eye damage, nerve problems, and loss of limbs.
Also, it reduces the risk of death from cardiovascular disease in type 2 diabetes and/ or cardiovascular disease.
